Installation

From Chrome Web Store (Recommended):

  1. Visit the NoosAI page on the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Click the "Add to Chrome" button.
  3. Confirm any permission requests (we need access to read selected text and display results on your current page).
  4. The NoosAI icon should appear in your browser toolbar (you might need to pin it).

Manual Installation (Advanced Users):

  1. Download the latest `.zip` file from our GitHub Releases page.
  2. Unzip the downloaded file into a dedicated folder on your computer.
  3. Open Chrome and navigate to `chrome://extensions/`.
  4. Enable "Developer mode" using the toggle in the top-right corner.
  5. Click the "Load unpacked" button.
  6. Select the folder where you unzipped the extension files.
  7. NoosAI should now be installed. Note: Manually installed extensions do not auto-update.

How to Use NoosAI

Using NoosAI is designed to be simple and intuitive:

  1. Select Text: Highlight any piece of text on almost any webpage you want to analyze.
  2. Right-Click: Right-click on your highlighted selection.
  3. Choose Action: In the context menu that appears, hover over "NoosAI" (if applicable, or find the direct actions) and select the action you want:
    • Explain Selection: Get a clear explanation of the selected text (Premium required).
    • Simplify Selection: Rephrase the selected text into simpler language (Premium required).
    • AI Search Selection: Get AI-powered answers related to your selection (Premium required).
    • Analyze Sentiment: Get Positive/Negative/Neutral classification, confidence score, dominant emotions, and key phrase. (Now fully FREE!)
    • Summarize Selection: Get a concise summary of the selected text (Premium required).
    • Extract Keywords: Identify the main keywords and topics from the selection (Premium required).
    • Translate Selection: Translate the selected text into various languages (Premium required).
  4. View Results: A panel will appear (usually top-right) displaying the results from the AI.
  5. Summarize Full Page: Right-click *anywhere* on the page (without selecting text) and choose "NoosAI: Summarize This Page" from the context menu (Premium required).

Using the Popup:

  • The NoosAI v2.0 popup has dedicated buttons for quick access to "AI Search," "Explain," and "Simplify" for selected text.
  • Click the NoosAI icon in your toolbar to open the popup.
  • Toggle the main "Extension" switch On/Off.
  • Toggle animation preferences.
  • Trigger "Summarize This Page" directly.
  • Paste text directly into the popup for analysis (Sentiment, Summarize, Keywords, Explain, Simplify, Translate).
  • View your Tier Status (Free/Premium) and remaining free analyses (if applicable).
  • Activate Premium by entering the license key received after purchase and clicking "Verify Key".
  • Access the main Options page (currently minimal).

The Results Panel:

  • Appears on the page to show analysis results, errors, or processing status.
  • Can be moved around the screen by clicking and dragging its header bar.
  • Includes a "Copy Text" button to easily copy the analysis result.
  • Can be closed by clicking the 'X' icon or clicking anywhere outside the panel.

How to Upgrade:

  1. Click the "Upgrade to Premium" button in the extension popup or visit our pricing section on noosai.co.uk.
  2. You will be redirected to our secure payment processor (Stripe) to complete your subscription purchase.
  3. After successful payment, you will receive an email containing your unique **License Key**.
  4. Open the NoosAI extension popup by clicking its icon in your toolbar.
  5. Paste your received License Key into the "Enter License Key" field.
  6. Click the "Verify Key" button.
  7. Once verified, the popup will update to "Premium Tier," and all features will be unlocked!

Managing Your Subscription

You can easily manage your NoosAI Premium subscription (e.g., update payment methods, view invoices, or cancel your subscription) through our secure payment processor, Stripe.

Access the Stripe customer portal via the "Manage Subscription" links found in the support section and the footer of our website, or in the Thank You page after purchase.

If you cancel, your premium access will continue until the end of your current paid billing period.

Troubleshooting / FAQ

Q: The results panel shows an error or "undefined".
A: This might happen if the AI model couldn't process the specific text or if there was a temporary connection issue with our backend or the Gemini API. Please try again with a slightly different text selection. If the issue persists, copy any error details and contact support.

Q: The context menu doesn't show NoosAI options.
A: Ensure the extension is enabled (check the popup toggle). Try reloading the webpage. If it persists, try restarting Chrome or reinstalling the extension (note: reinstalling may reset your free count/premium status if not saved properly - contact support if you lose premium status after reinstalling).

Q: License key verification fails, but I paid.
A: Please double-check you copied the key correctly from your email (no extra spaces!). Wait a few minutes after purchase for the system to fully update. If it still fails, contact support with your purchase email address and the key you're trying.

Q: Page Summarization says "Could not read page content" or "Page has no readable text".
A: The page summarization currently extracts text from the main body. It may struggle with very complex layouts, single-page applications, or pages primarily consisting of images or dynamic content. We are working on improving content extraction.

Q: Can I use this on Firefox/Safari?
A: Currently, NoosAI is only available for Google Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers (like Microsoft Edge, Brave). We do not have versions for Firefox or Safari at this time.
